My research explores the intersections of democratic theory and social epistemology, with a focus on how racial, political, and economic inequality affect what citizens learn about politics. You can find my writing published or forthcoming in places like the American Journal of Political Science, the Journal of Politics, and Political Science Quarterly. I’m currently working on a book about the effect of social inequality on democracy’s epistemic health.

I teach courses on democratic theory, the politics of misinformation, and American and African American political thought. Alongside my work with undergraduates, I collaborate with several organizations at Harvard and beyond on revitalizing K-12 civics and social studies education.

I completed my PhD at Harvard in 2022. Before that, I earned a B.A. in Social Studies from Wesleyan University and was a beat reporter in southwestern Connecticut.

I’m a political theorist and Assistant Professor of Political Science at Loyola University Chicago.
